Phone calls are the big difference

Face to face I was managing because you get very good at watching mouths without realising you're doing it. The phone is different because you've nothing to go on. I'd got to the stage of texting people I'd normally have rung, including my own brother. I rang him last week and we talked for about forty minutes and I didn't have to ask him to repeat anything.

One, do the hearing check somewhere genuinely quiet, not with the television on. I did mine wrong the first time and the result was odd. Two, try all three tip sizes even if the fitted one feels fine, because a whistle nearly always means the seal is wrong and not that the device is broken. Three, give it four days before you make up your mind about the sound. Four, charge the case at the same time every night so it becomes one habit. Five, the little brush is not optional, use it weekly. That is everything I have worked out and none of it is difficult, but nobody put it in one place for me so I am putting it here.

Im deaf in one ear, properly deaf, and these did NOTHING for it. Doctor told me afterwards nothing at this price would have. Should have asked first instead of ordering off an advert. Got a refund.

Sorry this wasn't right for you. Certus One is designed for mild to moderate loss. For profound loss on one side you'd be looking at a CROS or bone-conduction device, which has to be fitted by an audiologist — no over-the-counter aid at any price would have helped. Your refund shows as completed.

Good fit for narrow ear canals
