That's a fair review. Directional microphones help in a crowd but nothing worn in the ear solves a loud room with a match on — anyone telling you otherwise is selling. If you haven't tried the noisy-room setting, it's worth a go.

Middle tips, which is what's already on there. Comfortable from nine in the morning until midnight and my ears weren't sore. If you're putting it off, get them before the thing you're dreading, not after.

Four stars instead of five only because of the break-in period, which I don't think gets said loudly enough. Day one and two everything is bright and clattery. Around day six my brain sorted itself out and since then they've been excellent, I wear them from breakfast to bed. Just don't expect to put them in and be thrilled right away.
