I did not and I probably should have. For ordinary age related loss like mine these have been excellent. But if there is anything odd going on, one ear much worse than the other or ringing, get it looked at before you spend anything.

Please do get in touch. When one side reads noticeably weaker after the check it's usually the fit rather than the device, and it's a two-minute thing to sort out over the phone.

No light on the case

Cant tell how much charge is left in the case. You just have to guess or plug it in every few days. Everything else is good.

Fair point on the charge indicator — the case gives you a full charge from empty in about two hours, so most people just leave it plugged in overnight, but you shouldn't have to work that out yourself. It's on the list for the next revision.
