Face to face I was managing because you get good at watching mouths without realising. The phone's different, you've got nothing to go on. I'd got to texting people I'd normally have rung, including my own brother. Rang him last week and we talked about forty minutes and I didn't ask him to repeat anything. I just hold the phone to my ear as normal, they don't pair to it or anything, it works.

One, do the hearing check somewhere genuinely quiet, not with the television on. I did mine wrong the first time and the result was odd. Two, try all three tip sizes even if the fitted one feels fine, because a whistle nearly always means the seal is wrong and not that the device is broken. Three, give it four days before you make up your mind about the sound. Four, charge the case at the same time every night so it becomes one habit. Five, the little brush is not optional, use it weekly. That is everything I have worked out and none of it is difficult, but nobody put it in one place for me so I am putting it here.

Im deaf in one ear, properly deaf, and these did NOTHING for it. Doctor told me afterwards nothing at this price would have. Should have asked first instead of ordering off an advert. Got a refund.

Sorry this wasn't right for you. Certus One is designed for mild to moderate loss. For profound loss on one side you'd be looking at a CROS or bone-conduction device, which has to be fitted by an audiologist — no over-the-counter aid at any price would have helped. Your refund shows as completed.

Good fit for narrow ear canals
