This is a bit personal but I'll put it in case it helps someone. Over about two years I stopped going out. Not a decision, I just kept finding reasons. The big family dos first, then coffee with the girls, and then I realised I hadn't had a proper conversation with anyone in a fortnight. It's easier to stay home than to keep asking people to repeat themselves. My son got me these in May. Took about four days before it felt normal, your own voice sounds odd at first, apparently everyone gets that. Rang my sister last week and we were on for over an hour. I'm back at the Tuesday group.
