I have arthritis in both hands and the reason I never got hearing aids before is those tiny batteries. My mother had them and I remember her on the floor looking for one that had rolled off. These have no batteries at all, they sit in a little case and the case plugs in like a phone. I put them in the case last thing at night and they are ready in the morning. I have not touched a battery since March. Getting them into my ear took me about a week to get right, I will not pretend it was easy on day one, but I can do it now without looking in the mirror.

Twelve of us round a long table outside with a road behind us, and I was in the conversation for the whole meal instead of talking to whoever was nearest and smiling at everyone else. My wife pointed it out on the way back to the hotel. I had not consciously noticed I was doing better, which I think is the highest thing you can say about them.

My mother wears these and she refuses everything

You would have to know my mother. She is 84 and she has turned down a walking stick, a grab rail, a stairlift and two previous sets of hearing aids. She has worn these every day since Christmas. I do not fully understand why these ones were acceptable when nothing else has been and I am not asking in case it puts ideas in her head. She says she cannot feel them.
