My daughter ordered these about six weeks before my grandson's wedding because she was tired of me missing half of everything. I wasn't convinced and honestly I only put them in that morning to keep the peace. I heard the whole best man's speech. I haven't managed that in years, normally you laugh when everyone else laughs and hope for the best. Volume was fine right out of the box, we didn't change anything. Middle tips, which is what's already fitted. Comfortable from nine in the morning until midnight and my ears weren't sore. If you're putting it off, get them before the thing you're dreading, not after.

Turns out it was me
Len L. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
My wife has been telling me I don't listen for about sixty years. Did the hearing check on the phone, takes about ten minutes, you tap when you hear the beep. It came back showing I've lost a lot at the top end, which is apparently why you can hear that somebody is talking but not what they're saying. Wearing them since February. It's the consonants, s and f and th all sounded the same to me and now they don't. She is enjoying being right.

My wife says I'm back
Andrzej · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
I'd gone quiet the last few years. Not deaf exactly, just not joining in, because following a conversation in a group was more effort than it was worth. She said last week that I'm back to how I was. Took about a week to feel normal. I wear them all day, no soreness.

Try the other tips before you give up
Maureen T. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
The size they come fitted with was too small for me and I got some whistle when I put my glasses on. There are spare tips in the packet, three sizes, and swapping takes about ten seconds. Went up a size and it's been silent since. Worth saying because I would have sent them back thinking they were defective.

Should have done it eleven years ago
Amit C. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
That's roughly how long I put it off. Cost was part of it and vanity was the rest, about equal. My wife has spent eleven years repeating herself and me getting short with her about it, which I'm not proud of. If you're doing the same arithmetic I was, just order them. Worst case you send them back.

Nothing like the cheap amplifier I had
cliff c. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
Ten years ago I bought one of those amplifiers off TV. Squealed every time I turned my head near my collar and it put me off the whole idea. My son talked me into trying again. These are a different thing. No squeal, since January not once. And it isn't just louder, it's clearer. The old one made everything bigger including the fridge and the traffic. These leave the background alone and bring the voices up.

TV volume has come way down
Pat G. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
My husband had the TV on 38. I'm not exaggerating, I checked it once. The neighbours could hear the game through the wall. He's been wearing these since May and it sits around 14 now, which is where I have it when I'm alone. He hasn't said anything about it and I haven't made a thing of it. He says he can't feel them. Only thing is he has to remember to charge them or there's nothing there in the morning, but he does it with his phone so it's been fine.

Good fit for narrow ear canals
M. MacDonald · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
I have narrow canals and I have had trouble before with things sitting too shallow and working loose. The middle tip pushed in with a small twist stays put all day including bending over in the garden.

I'd stopped going to things
Richard O. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
This is a bit personal but I'll put it in case it helps somebody. Over about two years I stopped going out. Not a decision, I just kept finding reasons. The big family things first, then coffee, and then I realized I hadn't had a proper conversation with anyone in two weeks. It's easier to stay home than keep asking people to repeat themselves. My son got me these in May. Took about four days before it felt normal, your own voice sounds strange at first, apparently everybody gets that. Called my sister last week and we were on for over an hour.

Bought them so I could go back to church
Rashid M. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
Id stopped going because I couldnt follow the sermon. It's all hard surfaces and it echoes and I was getting maybe one word in three. Sounds like a small thing to spend money on and it wasnt small to me. Ive been back since April and I get most of it. Not every word, the building is still the building. I can hear the hymn numbers called out now too.

Somebody actually answered the phone
Joe P. · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
Had a question in the first week about whether you can overcharge them by leaving them in the case. Called expecting hold music and a script. A woman answered in under a minute, knew the answer, no you can't, just leave them in. That was it. Rare enough now to be worth mentioning.

HearingLife wanted $169 a month. That's $6,084.
Julie · Verified purchase, 🇨🇦 Canada ·
I went in for the free test. Nice enough people. What I came out with was a payment plan, $169 a month, and it wasn't until I was in the car that I did the arithmetic. Their own agreement is 36 months. That's $6,084 for a pair of hearing aids. I'm in BC so there's no program for someone my age, no federal coverage, and my extended health tops out at a few hundred dollars. I priced Costco after that, which was far more reasonable, and then I found these and tried them first because of the return window. At home very good, on the phone very good, in a restaurant I can hear the person across from me. I never went back to do the $6,084.
